Flowerblock

Flowerblock is a shelf designed to serve as both storage furniture and a room divider. The design is inspired by flower blocks, concrete units with geometric openwork patterns used in Okinawan architecture, which filter strong sunlight while letting air pass. Gaps between the boxes give the shelf a light and open appearance. Stainless steel rods connect the boxes for stability, solid white ash supports the load-bearing points, and plywood reduces the overall weight. The shelf has no back panel, so it can be placed against a wall or in the centre of a room.

Otsuchi

Otsuchi is a table lamp made from deer leather sourced in Otsuchi, Iwate, Japan. The town was struck by the tsunami caused by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Local crops were later damaged as the number of deer increased and the number of residents declined. Local hunters began a game meat business to make use of deer hunted as pests. The lamp is built from a 3D printed structure covered with deer leather, and the texture recalls the form of a living animal. The design honors the life of the deer and offers a calm presence.

Soo no.2

Soo No. 2 is a wooden chair designed for everyday seating. In most chairs the rear legs continue upward to support the backrest. In Soo No. 2 the rear legs and the backrest supports are separated into independent elements. The separation improves structural stability and creates a clear visual balance. The legs are cylindrical and the seat is woven with Danish cord. All structural joints use mortise and tenon joinery, and through joints form small diamond-shaped details along the sides of the frame. The armrests and backrest supports are fixed with discreet brass pins.
