Forging Office

Forging

Forging is a furniture set for offices and study rooms, consisting of a work desk and a matching chair. The main material is elm wood, and bent iron plates form the supporting structure. The iron plates are folded and fixed under the desk and the chair, where the wood is shaped to fit matching grooves. Triangular geometry gives the frame strength and toughness. The chair back and seat are made of elm wood and follow the shape of the body. The desk height is based on human body measurements. Straight lines and bends create an industrial style.

Forging Office by Wei Jingye / 魏靖野 was highlighted as a grand representation of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Forging Office was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2020. The A' Furniture Design Award is a highly prestigious international design prize which rewards excellent design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
