Chong
When stepping into traditional Vietnamese homes or strolling through peaceful village roads, one can easily spot the bamboo chong, a simple yet essential part of daily life. Inspired by this familiar image, Chong Daybed was created as a bridge between past and present, offering a modern, refined version while preserving the spirit of the traditional bamboo chong. Chong Daybed is directly inspired by this image, but it has been upgraded to suit modern needs, while still preserving the familiar simplicity and essence of rural culture.
Chong Daybed by Sema Design Studio was featured as a creative example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Chong Daybed won the Bronze A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2025. The A' Furniture Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that honors outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
