Taiwan Imagery
Taiwan Imagery is a chair inspired by traditional Taiwanese culture. The design combines the KA-TSI bag, a woven bag commonly used in Taiwan, with the Tai-Shi Chair, a classical Chinese wooden armchair used in early Taiwanese homes. Bulrush and aluminum are the main materials. The chair measures 500 by 980 by 710 millimeters. The back, the cushion and the legs form three separate parts joined with screws, so transport is compact and manufacturing is simpler. A mold controls the curved shapes and reduces production errors.
Taiwan Imagery Chair by Yi Ju Tseng was featured as a creative example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Taiwan Imagery Chair earned the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2023. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design accolade that rewards outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
