Tetris
Tetris is a modular bookcase designed for flexible storage. The bookcase consists of a large frame and a set of small cabinets shaped like the blocks of a tile-matching game. Users remove the small cabinets and rearrange them by shape and colour to compose a personal layout. Each small cabinet can also be taken out and used on its own as a storage box. The bookcase is made of aluminium alloy, a light material with good stiffness, strength, corrosion resistance and weldability. It measures 120.6 by 30.4 by 181.6 centimetres.
Tetris Bookcase by Bruce Tao was selected as a grand example of industrial design by the A' Design Award. Tetris Bookcase earned the Iron A' Design Award in Furniture Design in 2022. The A' Furniture Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize that recognizes outstanding design of chairs, tables, sofas, beds, cabinets, shelves, desks, wardrobes and more.
