Froggie
Froggie is a table lamp inspired by the double life of amphibians between land and water. The design captures the moment when a frog rises above the water surface. The eyes of Froggie serve as the two light sources, while the exposed body above the water forms the base. Both eyes are bendable, so the eye shapes can be adjusted to different positions to create varied lighting effects. A touch sensor button is placed in each nostril, so each light can be switched on and off separately. Froggie explores biomimicry as a source of playful design.
Froggie Table Lamp by Yongwook Seong was recognized as a creative example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Froggie Table Lamp received the Bronze A' Design Award in Lighting Products and Fixtures Design in 2021. The A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize which honors outstanding design of chandeliers, pendant lights, wall sconces, table lamps, floor lamps, outdoor lights, recessed lights, track lights and more.
